We’ll work together to find a date that suits you and discuss the vision for your session. A $200 non-refundable retainer is required to secure your booking. Once booked, you’ll receive a questionnaire to help me get to know you and your vision for the session. Together, we’ll create your unique piece of art.

Natural light lifestyle photography is my style. Imagine playing on the beach, jumping over the waves, running through a golden field with the breeze in your hair, or snuggling up on your couch with your newest little love sleeping softly in your arms. There is no studio or artificial lighting involved and no rules; just simply capturing beautiful natural moments of your family as they are, in nature or at home. Don’t stress if your kids don’t 'sit and smile'. We will capture this season of life in whatever form it takes, and those little in-between moments will be the ones you cherish the most. I have a particular passion for capturing motherhood moments that go beyond the average 'look at the camera and smile' shot. I completely understand the hesitation, about 90% of my clients say they feel so awkward when they are in front of a camera, so you are certainly not alone! Our session will be relaxed and easy going, with gentle guidance and prompts and no stiff poses. All of my clients end up saying how comfortable they were at our session together, so I hope I can do the same for you and your family.

Astrid Elizabeth Photography is based in Newcastle/Lake Macquarie, Australia, and services the surrounding area. I have a range of beautiful outdoor location options for your session, including beaches, cliff tops and grassy fields. If you have a location meaningful to you and your family, let me know, and we can discuss the vision for your session. Newborn sessions generally take place in the comfort of your own home, so you don’t need to leave your newborn bubble. In-home sessions are also a beautiful option for family sessions, capturing memories that truly reflect your season of life. A travel fee applies to locations more than 30km from Warners Bay.

For that beautiful, soft, and dreamy golden light, outdoor sessions are generally held about 1 hour prior to sunset or 30 minutes prior to sunrise, depending on the location. In-home sessions are generally scheduled for the morning.

An overcast session can be beautiful, but heavy or consistent rain not so much. If the day of your session is rainy, we can reschedule to the nearest available date that suits us both.

Not at this stage sorry, my family sessions are intimate and suitable for immediate family only. However, I can recommend some other amazing local photographers who do offer extended family sessions.

I understand the anticipation and excitement of awaiting your gallery, that is why I provide some sneak peeks usually within 2-3 days of your session. With your permission, I may also share some on my social media. You will then receive your private online viewing gallery of 40+ beautifully edited images generally within 4 weeks of your session (varies in busy periods). You can then choose which images you'd like to download as per your package inclusions. If you fall in love with all your photos, you have the option to upgrade to the full gallery for an additional $200 or purchase additional images at $25 each.

Upon booking, you will receive a session guide with advice and tips on how to style your family for your session. I also have a collection of beautiful women’s dresses in various sizes available for your session. You will receive a link to my client wardrobe gallery to view all available dresses. My clients also receive an exclusive discount on women’s dress hire through Mama Rentals, who have an exquisite range of gowns and dresses. Visit Mama Rentals to view their range. I also offer a range of divine newborn outfits, accessories, and blankets available for your newborn session.

I know that getting organised to leave the house with a newborn can be stressful in the first few weeks, so that’s why I come to you. In-home sessions are the perfect opportunity to capture those precious tiny details of your new little love in the comfort of your own home. The beauty of in-home sessions is that they are unique to you. Does your whole house need to be tidy? Definitely not. I understand life with a newborn, so don't stress. We only need one or two small spaces near natural light, and we can clear away any clutter from those areas. Your due date can be used as a temporary booking, then once your baby is born, we can confirm a date, generally between 1-3 weeks old. A newborn session prep guide will be provided upon booking to help you prepare for our session. My sessions are baby-led, so we work at your baby's pace. If they sleep, that’s great; if not, that’s okay too. We will capture a mixture of family lifestyle and individual photos of your baby.

I recommend maternity sessions between 32-35 weeks, but this depends on how you are feeling and when you would prefer to have your session. It's a good idea not to leave it too late in case we need to reschedule due to weather or illness. We don’t want to miss out and have your baby born before we get our session in.

Yes! Maternity sessions are for mum, partner, and siblings. We will capture some family shots, but with a focus on mum and bump.
